Capcom(R) Entertainment Mobile and Interactive Media Division to Acquire Mobile Game Publisher and Developer Cosmic Infinity Inc.
Reaffirming its commitment to the mobile game's market space, the Mobile and Interactive Media division for Capcom Entertainment announced today that it has entered into an agreement to acquire mobile game publisher and developer Cosmic Infinity Inc. This strategic acquisition augments Capcom Entertainment's pool of outstanding development talent and further strengthens their relationships with leading wireless carriers. Additionally, Cosmic Infinity holds several mainstream entertainment licenses, including North American mobile rights for "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire(C)," a perennial top selling title on many wireless carriers around the world.

With their assistance, we intend to make Capcom Entertainment Mobile and Interactive Media a leader in the emerging wireless gaming market."

As part of the agreement, Cosmic Infinity Inc. will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Capcom USA, Inc. and the company's management team and key employees will sign employment contracts with Capcom Entertainment. The employees from the Cosmic Infinity group will continue to be based in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Since its inception in November of 2005, Capcom Entertainment Mobile and Interactive Media has published several games based on Capcom's celebrated intellectual property, including "1942," "Ghost n' Goblins," "Mega Man(R)" and "Resident Evil(R): The Missions" to commercial and critical acclaim.
